WHAT: Professional women’s softball team, the New York Rise, will jumpstart its 2025 season

Rise and Atlanta Smoke are independent, professional clubs that collaborate with Fastpitch

United, a Florida-based organization dedicated to uniting various governing bodies, teams and

players in the sport of women’s softball.

“Partnering with AWSN is a huge step for the New York Rise,” said New York Rise Founder and

CEO Jeff Ahn. “In our second year, we are committed to growing the sport of women’s softball,

and this collaboration will undoubtedly expand our audience and help us reach new heights.”

The Long Island, NY-based RISE are entering their second season of play, and already boast a

handful of potential future stars in former NCAA Division I standouts, including Courtney Day

(University of Arkansas), who turned in a spectacular .462 batting average last season; power

Cody (University of Central Florida); 2022 World Games Gold Medalist, Charla Echols

(University of Florida); and 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Jala Wright (Duke
